Whats in a Name?
When “Christianity” first began there were no cathedrals, no fancy buildings choirs or televangelists. There was just a small group of believers with a big passion for God. No Bible schools, Seminaries, training programs or Conferences. Just 120 people in an upper room with 12 leaders that had been with the Master. (Acts 1:14) From these humble beginnings, these followers of Jesus Christ, as unlearned as they were, transformed a pagan world by the power of God.
What was the difference? “Christianity” today seems so far from its world shaking beginnings. I appreciate everything we have, but have we reduced “Christianity” to a mere religion and walked away from the relationship? Have we replaced burning passion with empty traditions. Have we leaned on our education instead of the miracle working God? I’m not against these things, but I wonder if we have departed, as a whole, from what Christ meant His Church to be?
The way of life. I believe the difference is found here. For so many, today’s Christianity is a religion. A Sunday event. A fellowship. A program. To the early Church it was “A Way of Life” It was everything, every day, in every way. They knew plenty of religion before the Christ. But after they knew a relationship, a “Way of Life” I believe we can have a relationship with Jesus that is so real, so powerful, so captivating, that it consumes our whole being in His higher purpose. I believe that herein lies the success of the Church. Here lies the fulfillment we have all been looking for. Jesus said ” I am the Way” Let us get on that way and live!!!
Our Vision . . .
is to evangelize and equip people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, in spirit and truth, for the glory of God.
The Way of Life Church exists to glorify God through authentic worship and the proclamation of His Word and seeks to provide a place for everyone to come to know and experience Jesus Christ for themselves in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God loves everyone and that everyone is therefore important, and so we’ve striven to create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and comfortable to worship God with us.
We firmly believe that people are most happy and fulfilled when they have discovered God’s purpose for their lives and are actively pursuing it. And we are committed to helping everyone find their purpose and uncover the gifts that God has given them to serve Him and to bless others.
Reaching Out
We believe God has sent us to Rancho Cordova to shine His light into the entire community. We are reaching out to the hurting, to the weary, to the confused. And seeing the power of God transform them to strong and vibrant servants of God. We seek to minister to young and old; rich and poor, to families, to singles, in every walk of life. We look forward to the day when the light of the gospel will shine in every corner of the community, and beyond.
